What is your deposit for securing an event?

  • Your deposit is only $350 per type of service.  If you order photography only, the deposit is $350, but if you order photography and video, the deposit is $700.  However, when you order both a wedding photographer and videographer from us in the Chicago region, you get a $200 discount off of the final contract price.

 

How many weddings have you done?

  • Each of us are full-time professional videographers or photographers.  We have done hundreds of weddings in a multitude of environments and religious backgrounds. So whether you have a wedding indoors, outdoors, or at a reception hall, or if you are catholic, jewish, muslin, or non-denominational, we have experienced it already and we know the appropriate customs and equipment that will be necessary.

 

How long does it take to receive my photos, album, and video?

  • We usually have your photos on-line within a couple of weeks after your wedding.  We will send you a direct link to your gallery (photo galleries) to pass to on to family and friends, along with a password.  Once you select the pictures for your wedding album, it will take a couple of weeks to put the album together and to make it available on-line (or on CD) for you to review and approve. We can make changes to layouts based on your feedback, and then once you approve your wedding album layouts, it take 2-3 weeks to create it. When your album is ready, your hi-resolution pictures will saved onto CD or DVD so you can print out your own pictures without having to pay the markup on our website.

  • One important note about printing pictures. Although you and your family will be able to save significantly on printing costs by waiting for your hi-resolution pictures to be available on CD or DVD, we ask that you direct your friends and distant family members to our website for two reasons.  First of all, we benefit from selling the pictures online, but we have built in that component into all of our packages. Additionally, our average picture cost is much less than many other wedding photography studios.  Secondly, when brides start taking orders from several people, it can actually become quite cumbersome taking the orders, getting all of the prints made, and delivering them back to each person.

  • For wedding videos, depending on the time of year, we usually deliver the completed DVD sets within 6-8 weeks via FedEx.  The package must be signed for and we can deliver it to your work or home address.  During the off-season (November - April), our turn-around time is 4 weeks.  However, although we usually ship wedding videos, all wedding albums must be picked up in person, so you can inspect it and we don't have to worry about it being damaged in the mail.

     

Since we will be receiving all of our wedding pictures on a DVD-Rom (or CDs) can I print photos for my family and friends?  I've had friends go to Wolf Camera and Costco with pictures from a professional photographer and they wouldn't allow them to be printed because they were "copyrighted", will I have the same issue?

  • These are two excellent questions...  First, you may print as many photos as you wish and for whomever you wish.  Second, regarding the copyright issue, we will always provide you with a signed letter waiving our copyright.  We have a blanket statement that says you may print as many pictures as you wish and to contact us if they (the printer) have any doubt about the waiver you are showing them.  The only problem we have ever had was someone not having the waiver with them at the time of ordering their pictures.

 

Can I change a package after booking with you?

  • The short answer is yes.  However, you have to maintain the same or higher value of the original wedding package.  Also, we do recommend that any changes happen before your wedding day so the photographer and/or videographer can shoot your day accordingly.  For example, if you order our modern flush-mount photography album, we will take specific shots during the day for the beautiful panoramic pages. For video, if you order a wedding highlight video, there are a few shots that we typically like to use that we will be sure to get if we know ahead of time.  If you don't choose a vertical album or a highlight video until after the wedding, we may not have as many "preferred" shots to select from.

 

What type of camera equipment do you use?

  • For wedding photography, we only use Nikon and Fuji professional cameras.  Both of these brands use Nikon digital SLR mount lenses.  We also use Nikon SB-800 flashes for maximum power, and we always, always, always, have lots of back-up equipment. Our lenses, which we feel are as important if not more important than the type of camera being used, are fast F2.8 lenses or better. 
  • For wedding videography, we only use the top of the line Sony professional digital video cameras.  Best of all, each of our videographers use the exact same equipment. We standardized our cameras, lights, tripods, tapes, and other devices to maintain a high level of consistent quality.  This also means that our main wedding camera is exactly the same as the "B" camera for the unmanned camera during a ceremony. This benefits us by keeping both camera views looking the same, and if we ever have a problem with one camera, we have a duplicate on hand to finish with.

 

When is the final payment due?

  • Your final payment is due the week of the wedding.  We ask that you put the check in the mail the Monday before your wedding date so we will receive Wednesday or Thursday.  This is a standard practice in the wedding industry, although, many companies demand a down payment of 50% and the final payment being due two weeks before the wedding.  Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for you to afford all of the things you want for your big day and we understand that budgets are often tight.  That is why we have an initial deposit (per service) of $350 and the remainder due by your wedding day.

 

I used your service last year and now my sister or friend is getting married.  Do you have any incentives for us to refer them to your company?

  • First of all, our greatest compliment is when family members obtain our services for multiple events. We love getting to know the parents and providing services that will be cherished by your family and friends for years to come. And to answer your question, we do have a referral program that offers a free album layout or extra DVDs (photography incentive is one layout or 2-sides, which is normally $45, or the wedding video incentive is 2 additional sets of DVDs added to their package). This incentive is to the bride and groom how are about to get married and are referred to us by someone who has previously used our services. If the new couple selects both wedding photography and videography, the referral fee includes both incentives for photography and videography even if you only used one of our services for your wedding day.
